Household Goods Shipping Update

January 6, 2025

Hopefully, you had a lovely holiday season and a healthy start to the year.

Winter Storm Blair has come across the middle of the US, causing over 10000 flight cancellations and treacherous travel conditions. The Mid-Atlantic states are under a severe winter weather warning through Tuesday. Moving services are impacted in many areas, and our team has updated customers with any schedule changes.

Tomorrow, the International Longshoremen’s Union (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) are set to resume contract talks. Hopefully, a deal will be made to avoid a potential port strike on the East Coast that could start next week on the 15th.

We are closely monitoring all shipments that might be impacted if there is one. We are waiting as long as possible to book sailings for shipments that are loading this week and next to avoid any shipments getting stuck at the port.

We will be providing regular updates on this until the situation is settled.

Thank you for reading, and once again, your questions and feedback are appreciated!
